In the night from 5 to 6 May 2014, the town of Veghel welcomed its new Gazelle bridge, a 103-metre-long bridge with a wet coating system applied by Straco Waspik.
For optimum preservation of the new Gagel cycle bridge in Utrecht, De Kok Staalbouw opted for metallisation with a 3-layer wet coating system. As a result, the bridge has a guaranteed service life of >25 years.
The bridge was split up into five sections for processing; four sections of 20 metres long, 5 metres wide, and 3.7 metres high, and the fifth section is a bridge component of 25 metres long, 5 metres wide, and 3.7 metres high. The new Gagel bridge is scheduled to be erected between 17 and 19 July.
