Over the past few months, a team of twelve employees from our Waspik site drove to HSM Offshore in Schiedam every day. HSM Offshore is working on the expansion of an existing oil rig. Needless to say, this kind of construction work is subject to the strictest fire safety requirements. Applying a fire-retardant coating to these critical sections is part of ensuring compliance with such safety requirements.
Straco Waspik has the kind of specialist spraying equipment that is needed to apply the coating with different layer thicknesses all over the material, even the most poorly accessible parts, while working against the clock. This job is set to be completed in early 2015 in close collaboration with Bilfinger Brabant Mobiel. •
